Nicki Minaj's Backup Dancer Bitten By Snake During VMAs Rehearsal
Super Bass? More like super snake! Nicki Minaj's MTV Video Music Awards performance this weekend is probably going to be just as memorable as the rehearsal leading up to it. According to TMZ, one of the rapper's backup dancer's was bitten by a boa constrictor during a run-through of her "Anaconda" routine on Friday, Aug. 22.
The female dancer was immediately taken to the hospital where she was treated. The reptile, meanwhile, was removed from the area in a container.
An insider tells Us Weekly that the snake involved wasn't poisonous and that taking the dancer to the hospital was more of a precaution. The source adds that the live snakes on stage are a part of Minaj's jungle theme set.
In better news, Minaj's "Anaconda" music video just topped Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" for the most online views in 24 hours. The raunchy, sexual video released earlier this week was watched 19.6 million times in just one day. VMAs 2013 queen Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" earned 12.3 clicks last September.
